Sheriff M. Ismail
Sheriff Mahmud Ismail, a Sierra Leonean national with more than nine years of experience in the field of media relations and customer service. He joined the World Bank Group (WBG) in 2011 as a Communications Consultant and was subsequently appointed country Communications Associate for Sierra Leone, his current position, in August 2012.
Based in Freetown, he is responsible for communicating about the WBG’s work in Sierra Leone. Prior to this appointment, he served as Customer Operations Manager in two of Sierra Leone’s telecommunication companies; Millicom (tigo) between 2007 and 2010 and Africell between 2010 and 2011. Mr. Ismail has been publishing in several local tabloids over the years.
He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree with honors in Library and Information Management and a Masters of Arts in Mass Communication from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
